How can I contact Nightline?
If you are looking to chat or for information then please contact us via telephone – the number for our line is on the back of your Student ID card. If you have an enquiry about Nightline, which does not require an immediate response then please email us at nightline@undeb.bangor.ac.uk .

When can I contact Nightline?
Bangor Nightline is open from 8pm until 8am every night of term offering information and support. If you have any queries or questions about Nightline then you can email us at any time at nightline@undeb.bangor.ac.uk and we will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Who will I be talking to at nightline?
You'll be talking to another Bangor University student, who has undergone extensive training to provide you with non-judgemental and confidential support, as well as accurate local information.

What can I talk about with nightline?
Anything! You can call us if you want to talk something through, if you need the number of a good take away or if you simply need to rant! Nightline volunteers will not give you advice as they are not trained on specific issues, but we will listen and talk through your situation with you in order to help you make your own conclusions. As we are a student run service, we cater particularly for the needs of students, and won't patronise or judge you – allowing you to talk openly and honestly in confidence.

How often can I call nightline?
You can call Nightline as often as you need our assistance.

What information does nightline keep on its callers?
None of your personal details will be kept on record. Nightline is obligated to keep limited statistics (number of calls received, gender of callers, category of the call and call duration) to support our funding applications and development. However, this information could in no way lead to identifying individual callers. If you would like information about our Data Protection Policy then please email nightline.secretary@undeb.bangor.ac.uk .

Will I be able to get in touch with the same volunteer again?
Nightline maintains the strictest volunteer confidentiality, so the volunteers will not be able to disclose personal information or the date of their next duty. However, if you are calling back on the same night it might be possible to talk to the same volunteer if they are not talking with another caller.

What should I do when Nightline is closed during the day?
Outsides of Nightlines phone hours and term time you can email us at nightline@undeb.bangor.ac.uk. If you would like to speak to someone, try the Samaritans, or contact any of the services listed in our external links page.

I am not a Bangor University student. Can I still call Nightline?
Bangor Nightline is aimed at Bangor University students in terms of the training our volunteers are given and the information that we can provide. For information on other nightlines that may cover your institution, visit the National Nightline Website. If you are not a student at any institution, we would direct you to the Samaritans.
