Llyn Padarn and B.U.B.C

B.U.B.C left the Menai Straits in 2011 in an effort to offer a better rowing environment and safer conditions for everyone who wants to row in Bangor and the surrounding areas.

LLyn Padarn is located in Gwynedd North Wales , near the town of Llanberis. The Snowdonia Mountain range surround Llyn Padarn, giving the Lake better protection from the weather factors that made rowing on the Menai Straits so uncomfortable.

For many years Llyn Padarn has been a busy area for many different types of outdoor activities in the Llanberis area. These include Sailing, Canoeing, windsurfing and many other activities, making it a vibrant tourist destination, as well as offer the residents from the whole of North Wales and beyond the perfect location for parties and other events.

The Llanberis area is also the home to the First Hydro Company, the Uk’s most dynamic Hydroelectricity generators. At B.U.B.C we believe that we owe this company a lot, as they offered their support when the Club had to make the tough decision to move off the Menai straits and onto Llyn Padarn.
