Who are we? Hello, we are BRAMAS! This society was founded many years ago by a group of like-minded individuals who felt that there wasn’t enough of an alternative scene in Bangor and thus BRAMAS was born! We are all a very friendly and approachable group and you can get involved with us from the very start, whatever your taste in music. You’ll find many people who will be up for a jam session, starting bands or generally just chilling and listening to great music!
What do we do? Our society is built around you as fellow rock and metal lovers! We do everything from bbq’s while the sun sets over Bangor; to trips to gigs in Manchester and Wrexham; to nights out in both Bangor and further afield; lots of socials; house parties; band nights. We are lucky enough to have a rock and metal night that goes on every Tuesday upstairs in the Rascals bar (first one is the 20th September 2011), playing everything from: industrial, punk, extreme metal, nu metal, thrash, death etc. And there is talk of another rock an metal night but this is yet to be confirmed.
There are plans for a big end of year event: which will most probably be an alternative ball or potentially a mini-festival!
How can you get in touch with us? There are two main ways to get in touch with us:
We have a facebook group up and running where the majority of the events are arranged and you can ask any questions you may have with regards to our society or Bangor life in general. Introduce yourself and let us know what you want from the society.
Secondly, you can find us during serendipity week! This will be something that you will all be informed about when you get to the university. We shall be have a stall there where you can come and sign up and ask us things and more importantly come and get to know us! We have several things planned for freshers’ week so you will also find out about them as well.
