Who are we? The Bangor University 15th Century Medieval Re-enactment Society was founded in 2007 by two Bangor University students (now graduates) who had a passion to bring re-enactment to the people. Now in 2010 we are fully affiliated with the Students’ Union and eager to pass our enthusiasm on to others.
What do we do? What we do is train you to be a medieval foot soldier (7–10pm Friday and Saturday 2–5pm at the Catholic Chaplaincy, Menai Avenue, next to Bodnant Medical Centre). You could be a front line bill-man, an armoured knight fighting bravely with a sword, and many more things, but fighting isn’t all we do. We want to be able to take you re-enactment events across the country with our parent group – the Thomas Stanleys. During these you can spend a weekend living in the 15th century, with authentic clothing, cooking, crafts and re-enacting battles that occurred years ago. We encourage everyone to have a go and try it out, the first session is completely free – who knows, you may even find you enjoy it!
