PSΨCH: Bangor Psychology Society
Hello there! We are PSΨCH: Bangor Psychology Society. The society is a very friendly, relaxed place to be where you will have the chance to learn more about Psychology while having fun and meeting new people! This society is entirely open to everyone and not just Psychology students!
Meet our committee for 2013/2014:
Alex is our new Chairman of the society for the coming year. He’ll be taking charge of the new committee, representing the society and will be supervising the entire epic forth-coming events and dealings that the society will be planning for everyone!
Zakee is the Vice Chair, he’ll be helping out in all the events and occasions that the society creates as making sure that everything will be running smoothly for this committee’s term.
Jenny has now taken over the role of Psych Society’s Secretary. She will be in charge of distributing any and all information that you need to know via Facebook, Twitter and posters.
Then there is our Treasurer Rachel. Her job will make sure that your money can go the distance in organized events, your hoodies and much, much more.
Zakk has a huge numbers of plans and machinations in that head of his to blow your mind with astounding events, with his job as Social Events Co-coordinator.
Alex Hopkins, the Academic Events Coordinator, will be putting on academic events for your benefit this year, so you have the chance to get involved and apply your amazing Psych knowledge that you’ve learned!
We have many academic events such as PSΨCH Café where lecturers have the opportunity to have a chat to you about their research and also PSΨCH cinema showing Psychology based films every week for you! New introduced Debate groups will be used so that students can discuss and argue points about various issues. Guest lecturers will also be making appearances like the Dissociative Identity Disorder talk.
Throughout 2013/2014 we plan to hold fortnightly socials with our members so that we can find out what YOU want to do and also so we can get to know you more!
Our social events start right in Fresher’s Week 2013 – The Bangor Variety Fest! PSΨCH is organising an event that involves a group of Bangor’s societies banding together in order to show YOU what we have to offer while raising money for charity! Want to know more? Check out the Facebook group: EVERYONE is welcome.
Throughout the year we also plan to hold many more events such as:
- Monthly Social
- Trips to the fun centre in Caernarfon
- Halloween Social
- Christmas Masquerade ball
- PSΨCH Factor
- Alton Towers Trip
- Jazz/Swing Night
- LOADS more!
These events are available to everyone, however PSΨCH members will have discounted tickets as well as cheaper Society hoody prices so it is definitely worth joining as it will be cheaper to get involved and have fun!
