Bangor University Zoological Society, affectionately known to its members as ZooSoc, is a society that was set up for those who take an interest in the subject of Zoology. The society meets weekly on a Tuesday evening to listen to a range of talks and presentations from a wide selection of speakers on different topics within the subject. There are also a range of trips organised for members that take place throughout the year to places such as Puffin Island and local zoos.
As well as the academic side there is also a strong social side within the society. After each meeting members are invited to come for a quiet drink in a local pub where they can discuss the contents of the meeting, meet some new people or even just play a game of pool! There is also a Christmas meal organised for members that takes place at the end of the first semester.
ZooSoc is open to anyone and everyone, you don’t have to be studying an area of Zoology to join, you just need an interest in it! If you would like to find out more information or ask any questions about the society, come and see us at our stall at Serendipity during Freshers week, or join our facebook page which can also be found by searching ‘Bangor University Zoological Society’, or by clicking the link below. We also have an email address bangorzoosoc@hotmail.co.uk that members and potential members can contact us through.
We hope you will join us, and look forward to meeting you!
