LangSoc – Modern Languages Society
LangSoc is a society that aims to use Modern Languages in a no pressure, friendly environment without the pressure of the classroom.
Our Aims are
- To find and bring together the worlds of Languages and Social Life to create a more comfortable way of speaking languages without the pressure that is, more often than most, presented in the seminar room.
- To introduce new people from inside and outside of languages to each other and broadening people’s social boundaries.
- To give students another option for Extra-Curricular activities, to assist them in their degree and to receive advice from some 4th years about how the 3rd year abroad and what to expect.
We have plenty to offer:
- We have English-speaking socials.
- We have food tasting socials for each foreign language.
- We have film showings for each language.
- We offer chances to learn basic language in other languages e.g. Welsh, Russian, Polish etc.
- We also offer Foreign Language Poker Nights.
LangSoc welcomes all MFL and non-MFL students to come and join in with our fun and see what we have to offer. :)
