UMCB Events

A great portion of our work here at UMCB is to create oportunities for Welsh speakers and Welsh learners to socialise and live through the medium of Welsh and to be able to hold events that promote the Welsh culture to the students of the University.

In addition to these events that are organised by our clubs and societies, UMCB organises and holds its own special events throughout the year and some are held in conjunction with the other Universities and and Colleges accross Wales. Each one of these evens is planned and organised by the UMCB events committee, so keep your eyes peeled for events coming up on the Union website, University Inranet and our UMCB Facebok Group, to see when the meetings are taking place and you can have your say about what's goin on.

Clwb Cymru

An evening of Welsh music in Academi Nightclub. This is on every other Thursday night during term time. A very busy and lively evening, so come and enjoy an excellent night with a great mix of music in both Welsh and English – there’s something for everyone's taste and if you're not familiar with the Welsh rock scene then this is your chance to have a taste of it.

Welsh Week

Bangor Students’ Union invites you to a week of events to celebrate St David’s day – Welsh Week! The events, to include students, University staff and the residents of Bangor and the local area, will begin on Monday 27 February and continue throughout the week until Sunday 4 March. Other events for 2011-2012

Intercollegiate Ball – A dance with live music held by the University in Aberystwyth. Unions and Societies and clubs from all the Universities and Colleges accross Wales attend the event so this is an excellent chance for you to socialise and get to know other Welsh speakers and learners from accross the country!

Gloddest – The UMCB Christmas Dinner. Approximately 150–200 students usually attend a local hotel or restaurant to have a Christmas meal followed by a disco. Here is another oportunity for learners and first language students to socialise and meet.
Tuesday 13 December

Intercollegiate Eisteddfod – The Eisteddfod will be held in Bangor this year! All the Clubs, Societies and the Unions of all the Universities and Colleges accross Wales attend the event, so this is a great chance to get to know the Welsh speakers and learners accross Wales and to show everyone else that Bangor can trounce everyone in everything!
Friday 17 – Saturday 18 February

Dublin Rugby Trip – A trip to Dublin to see Wales play Ireland. The Unions and societies of all colleges and Universities in Wales will be going to this event, so this is another chance for Welsh speaking and Welsh learners to get to know each other and to celebrate together in Wales’ victory.
Saturday 4– Monday 6 February

UMCB Awards Night – UMCB Awards Dinner. This will be a chance for us to celebrate the successes of our clubs, societies and the individuals and to recognise the work that groups and individuals have done to promote UMCB, the Welsh language and to help Welsh speaking students over the year.

Digwyddiadau UMCB

Rhan fawr o waith UMCB yw creu cyfleoedd i siaradwyr a dysgwyr allu cymdeithasu a byw trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg a chynnal digwyddiadau i hybu diwylliant Cymraeg i fyfyrwyr y Brifysgol.

Yn ychwanegol i’r digwyddiadau sy’n cael eu trefnu gan ein Clybiau a Chymdeithasau, mae UMCB yn cynnal ei ddigwyddiadau arbennig ei hun trwy gydol y flwyddyn – ac mae rhai o’r rhain yn cael eu cynnal yn gysylltiedig â Phrifysgolion a Cholegau eraill yng Nghymru. Mae pob un o’r digwyddiadau yma yn cael eu trefnu gan pwyllgor digwyddiadau UMCB, felly cadwch lygad ar wefan yr Undeb, mewnrwyd y Brifysgol a grŵp Facebook UMCB i weld pryd mae’r cyfarfodydd er mwyn i chi allu dweud eich dweud ar beth sy’n mynd ymlaen.

Clwb Cymru

Noson cerddoriaeth Gymraeg yng nghlwb nos Academi. Mae’r noson yn cael ei chynnal bob yn ail nos Iau yn ystod amser y tymor. Mae’n noson brysur a bywiog; dewch i fwynhau noson wych gyda chymysgedd dda o gerddoriaeth Gymraeg a Saesneg – mae rhywbeth at ddant pawb. Os nad ydych yn gyfarwydd â’r sin roc Gymraeg cewch gyfle i brofi rhywfaint arno yma.

Wythnos Y Ddraig

Mae Undeb Myfyrwyr Cymraeg Bangor yn eich gwahodd i wythnos o ddigwyddiadau i ddathlu Gŵyl Dewi - Wythnos y Ddraig! Bydd y digwyddiadau yn cynnwys myfyrwyr, staff y Brifysgol a phobl Bangor a’r cylch gan ddechrau ar ddydd Llun y 27ain o Chwefror a pharhau trwy’r wythnos tan ddydd Sul y 4ydd o Fawrth.
